From award-winning Celtic group, RUA, Jimmy Young & James Wilkinson create a contemporary fusion of Celtic & Jazz influenced music. They have been touring for the last 12 years, building an enthusiastic audience for their acoustic music. From jazzy piping to one-handed guitar playing and onto songs by Eric Clapton and the Beatles as well as their own compositions and traditional Scottish material.
Recently they have concentrated on working with Kiwi legend, Shona Laing, whom they recorded a CD with ‘Sparrow Songs.’ A tour with her is planned for the New Year throughout NZ. They have just played Wellington Festival and Auckland as well as Keri Keri on their Northland outing. They are recipients of two “Folk Record of the Year” from the NZ Music industry and James has been nominated “NZ Guitarist of the Year.” New compilation CD out soon.
